It was a very slow start tonight (due to it being colder then fuck tonight) but it ended really, really well. Because of the slow start I played a bunch of dub/garage/breaks early just to have fun.

Although: look kids there is a new Depeche Mode Song (2nd song I played) also the first song song I played I love! But it is not a darksider song at all, I played on new years and it went over huge, but I don't think I will have many opportunities to play it (which is why I played it really early tonight)

Tonight was very good in some ways - we had a dance floor from within the fist 20 min on, but it was a very strange crowd. Early they wouldn't dance to anything newer then 10 years old. Then in the middle they would dance to everything - which was awesome. Then the room totally cleared out for a bit, only to come back super strong at the end. Tonight ended up much better than I expected. I thought the long weekend and CON would have totally killed the night, but not so much. It wasn't the busiest night ever, but I have a pretty good dance floor for most of the night. Tons of requests played, which is expected due to the slower night

DJ noise threw his back out at CON so I ended up doing the night solo.

Last night was kind of strange, I was solo due to djo2 being sick and I forgot the Morrissey show which was also last night. A few people came in almost right away from the show, sadly not many of them stuck around all night. That said, at least some people were on the dance floor most of the night, and the floor was pretty full for the last hour or two

Monday was a pretty fun night, the dancefloor was weird, it was pretty good from early then it had a big lull around 12 - 12:30ish, then it kicked back up.

Because of the snow it was a very slow Hard Monday, the snow also stranded djo2 in Vegas so I was solo all night. That said I, and I think most people who came out, had fun. Percentage wise I had most of the people in the room dancing almost all night. A group came in right at 11:00 and I had people on the floor from that point on.

Here is the playlist. Early in the night there was literally nobody there so I entertained myself with some break beat then playing around mixing stuff together.

Because of the light crowd everyone who requested a song got to hear whatever they requested, that’s always interesting and fun.

What a fun and very unexpected night. I was scheduled to have the late shift last night (11 – 2) So I took a long nap when I got home. I woke up around 9:30 and started thinking about getting ready when I checked my phone. djo2 had called a couple of times and texted once asking if I could go solo and he could cover next week. I called him and told him I could, but that meant I had to scramble to get to the club in time.

I did get down there just before 10 and everything was good. The night started really well actually, I had dancers almost right away. Then about 45 minutes in something weird happened. Swarms of older gay man came in; there were dozens and dozens of them. Now normally this is not a problem, it would be great except for the fact that they had all just gotten out of the Cindy Lauper show and I didn’t have any 80’s music with me. See djo2 usually brings the 80’s music so I don’t keep much of it with me on a regular basis.

That made the room a little awkward for a while, but things soon straighten themselves out. All the 80’s boys found the video and back bars in which they were able to get their 80's on. This in turn scared all the gothy kids into the dance bar all night, which meant I had a great room and dancefloor for almost the entire time. YAY

It was also request city, I played 26 requests and still probably had 10 that I wasn’t able to get to.

It was pretty slow at the old barn dance last night. I don't know what the deal was but there were almost no regulars out last night.

That said, the people who did come out danced like fiends - YAY fiendish people - It seemed like at least 80% of the people who showed up were on the dance floor almost the entire time.

What a fun night! The dancers were out in full force, we had a dance floor from almost the minute I started and it stayed full until the very last song. I even got applause at the end of the night - YAY!!

I've been terrible about posting playlists lately, here are the last three Thursdays. DV8 and I were on a big time video kick early in the night, we got a new video switcher that let us do some cool visual tricks when going from video to video which was really cool. I have a recording of last night which I will try to get up later today.

Last night was very fun BTW, it wasn't packed by any means, but it was just one of those really fun, good vibe nights (for me anyway).

I have last night uploaded. Overall it was pretty slow, but the dancefloor was great for the size crowd. I would say we had at least 80% of the people dancing for most of the night (not counting outside smokers) DJ Noise is still in Cali, so it was just DJ Overdrive and myself for most of the night.

Part One is all me, and the first 60 minutes of part two is all me, from there on it's Overdrive and myself. Oh and you will here a skip in Beloved in part two - damn CD! I forgot the play list, so I will update that later. I was in a 80'sish mood early in the night, I don't really know why, it just was. I also played with the effects on the Denon DND9000 a ton during the night.

Whew, quite the night at the club last night. Just like last year it was a birthday fest, although I didn’t get totally trashed like I did last year. I was also DJing solo all night. The dance floor started off great last night, granted it was tourists for the first half hour/forty five minutes or so, but still. There was a little lull around 12ish, but otherwise it stayed pretty packed all night. I did have the nightmare that all DJ’s fear happen to me right at the end of the night. People were up talking to me and I got distracted, then I noticed I had 20 seconds left in the song and nothing que’ed up…. I ended up having to loop the last 10 seconds and throw in a song I wasn’t planning on playing. :”)

Last night started a bit slow like normal, there was a group of tourists hanging out for quite a while (They came up and asked for the pussycat dolls and then got mad when I said it wasn’t going to happen.) By 11:00 the dance floor had started and by 11:30 it was pretty good. The cool thing was I never really lost the floor from that point on, there were a couple of slower points but it never totally cleared. The reason this is was so cool is because the music was very eclectic last night, I was going from one extreme to another. It all seemed to work, which was awesome.

I'm pretty happy with the set, there are a couple of mixes that are off, but what the hell, I'll share with the world anyway.

It's been forever since I posted. I've been very busy at work, having to bring work home even. I was also out with the Ebola on Sunday and part of Monday.


Monday night was ok, it was like pulling teeth to get people dancing for a while, but once they got going it was pretty good. I was in a retro-remix mood for the fist hour which I thought was really fun, I don't know if anyone else did.

Wow, quite the night last night, it was freaking packed (relatively speaking.) I’m thinking it was because of the Monday night Vikings game downtown. Whatever the reason, around 11ish we were swarmed with drunken people. They came in the doors hammered, than went right on the dance floor and danced. (In a very wobbly, stumbly kind of way.) Most of the crowd was not our regular darksider crowd, but they weren’t too obnoxious and they danced to most everything so we were digging them. Plus they had to help out the bar numbers. By the end of the night the whole place was one gigantic drunk fest. Ahhh good times.

Last night was one of the best Mondays we’ve had in Months. To be honest I figured we would be really dead because of the CON, but people came in droves. It was great; the dance floor filled up soon after 11 and stayed pretty much full the rest of the night.

BTW, if you like electro get the new DJ Scandy CD, it is AWESOME.

Fun night last night. The crowd came in all at once, for a while it seemed like it was going to be a slow night, then *boom* busy. I was in a kind of retro mood to start the night, very different from the the last few weeks when I played a ton of electro early.
